Pumping on a Camping Trip

Need to pump breast milk while you're on a camping trip? Here's how to store your milk, power your pump, and clean your pump parts.

Feeding fresh breast milk (as you pump it) as often as possible. This helps limit the amount of breast milk that you need to manage and eliminates the need to warm it.

Storing your milk

If you have any extra milk,  store it in a separate cooler. Breast milk can be stored in a cooler with ice/an ice pack for up to 24 hours.

Storing your milk

If you don't have a rechargeable pump, or if your trip is longer, you may need a battery pack or car adapter (depending on which works best for you).

Powering your pump

If you have access to clean water,  you can wash with biodegradable soap. You can rinse and dry in a wash basin.
