When I had a new baby, I was always STARVING and defaulted to eating junk a lot of the time. After all, who has time after pumping, bottle feeding, and getting your baby to sleep to sit down and make yourself something to eat?

Having healthy, ready-to-go snacks that would also boost my milk supply would have been amazing! Sweetie Pie Organics offers both lactation smoothies and bars that make everything easy, have milk-boosting ingredients, and are definitely worth checking out.

How do Sweetie Pie smoothies help increase milk supply?

Sweetie Pie smoothies have two galactagogues – fenugreek and flaxseed.

Fenugreek is an herb that increases milk supply in many women (you can read research that’s been done here), and is a common ingredient in nursing teas, lactation protein power, etc. Many moms also take it in capsule form.

There is about 1000mg of Fenugreek in each smoothie container.

Flax seed is a galactagogue that is often used in lactation cookies and smoothies. It has omegas that may increase milk production.

Drinking the smoothie also provides you with hydration! Many women find the drinking a lot of fluid helps support their milk supply.

How long does this smoothie take to work?

Most breastfeeding mothers notice results within 24-48 hours after drinking the smoothie.

Are the smoothies safe for everyone to drink?

These lactation smoothies do not contain any allergens (they are dairy-free, gluten-free, and nut free.)

Sweetie Pie Organics recommends that you do not share the smoothie with your children.

Super-easy for new moms

These smoothies and bars are super easy for new moms – they are shelf-stable, and you don’t need to spend time shopping for ingredients or rolling cookies into balls and baking.

As a mom of a newborn, I was always so hungry and wanted a snack every time I pumped, so having something healthy and easy on hand would have been so helpful.

Do you need to drink the smoothie/eat the bars around your pumping schedule?

No – you can drink or eat these any time of the day, as your breasts are always making milk.

Do these lactation bars have the same galactogogues as the lactation smoothie?

There are two different flavors – Oats & Almond and Chocolate Oats. The Oats & Almond bars have fenugreek, oats, and omegas. The Chocolate Oats bars is a fenugreek-free option that has oats and omegas.

What are the benefits of these lactation bars?

Like the lactation smoothies, the lactation bars provide lactation support and are shelf-stable and a healthy, easy snack when you’re starving but don’t have time to find something to eat and sit down and eat it.

If you want to try either the smoothies or the lactation bars, you can get them from amazon. Check out the smoothies here, and the Oats & Almond bars here, and the Chocolate Oats bars here!
