19 Gifts for Breastfeeding Moms
Each item listed below has a price range attached to it. (Because they can fluctuate, I didn’t include the exact prices.) Here, one dollar sign means under $25, two means between $25 and $50, three means between $50 and $100, and four means over $100.
LaVie Warming Massager
These warming massagers are AMAZING – using vibration and warmth, they can help moms pump more milk and get letdowns faster. They are especially useful for working moms who don’t have a lot of time of time to pump (and they make pumping in a cold lactation room much more comfortable).
Check LaVie’s warming massager out here. (Use the code EPUMP to get 10% off!)
Lactalites are a small light that attach to breast shields. They are fantastic for moms who pump in the middle of the night, because it makes it easy to position flanges and see milk flow without turning all of the lights on.
This can help her get back to sleep faster, and if there is one thing a pumping mom needs more of, it’s sleep!
(Note: Lactalites work with most pumps, but not the Freemie, Elvie, or the Willow.)
Breast Pump Backpack
For pumping moms who work, travel, or pump on the go, a high-quality breast pump backpack to transport their pump, pumping accessories, and breast milk is a game changer! The Idaho Jones breast pump backpack is really stylish and will fit everything needed. It’s large enough to fit the Spectra.
(Note: Idaho Jones reached out to me with a coupon code – you can use EXCLUSIVEPUMPING10 at checkout for 10% off on any bag on their website, both pump bags and breastmilk coolers.)
Car adapters allow pumping moms to plug their pump in when they’re in their car. This is really useful for exclusive pumpers who are going on a trip, who have long commutes, or who live in an area that is prone to power outages.
Willow pumps are expensive, but they are AMAZING. This pump goes in a nursing bra, and a pumping mom can do pretty much anything while wearing it – sleep, grocery shop, work, etc.
FYI: Willow gave me a discount code for the month of July 2020. Use EPUMP25 for $25 off their new Gen 3 Willow pump! Offer expires 8/2/2020.
Audible Gift Card
Listening to audio books is a great way for exclusively pumping moms to make pumping time pass more quickly, especially at night! Staying entertained without the need to keep the lights on or be on the phone makes going back to sleep easier.
Long Phone Charger Cord
Pumping sessions can last a while – some pumping moms pump for 30 to 45 minutes at a time. These 10 foot charging cords will make sure her phone never dies in the middle of a pumping session.
A Haakaa is a milk catcher type of manual pump. Nursing moms can use it to catch milk on one side while they nurse on the other, while exclusively pumping moms can use it to catch milk when they randomly let down (like in the shower). It’s also useful for sucking out clogged ducts (more on that here).
Having a pumping station – where all of the stuff that you need to pump is located in one place – can make exclusive pumping so much easier! But what if she needs to pump in different rooms in her house?
Put everything in a rolling cart and make a mobile pumping station!
Three Tier Bottle Drying Rack
Most pumping moms find that drying bottles and pump parts take up their almost entire counter. This three tier Betty Crocker cooling rack works great as a drying rack for bottles and pump parts and can help her save space!
Large Water Bottle
Everyone should stay hydrated, but especially breastfeeding moms! Drinking enough water is thought to help boost milk supply.
This super cute water bottle is spill-proof, motivating, and helps track progress in drinking water throughout the day.
Nursing tanks make it easy to do the “two shirt” method for pumping or nursing in public – pulling up one shirt to get access while having a tank top underneath to keep the belly covered. These nursing tanks are long and don’t ride up!
Both hot and cold compresses can be helpful for breastfeeding moms – warmth can treat a clogged duct or mastitis, and cold is soothing while weaning or dealing with engorgement.
Booby Tubes can give you both in the same package – stick it in the microwave when a warm compress is needed, and in the freezer for a cold one!
Earth Mama gave us a special discount referral code for you guys – you can get 20% off with the code PUMPING20!
Cute Hair Ties
Pumping moms with long hair need a ton of hair ties at their pumping station so they can get their hair out of their way when they hook themselves up to pump! These No Crease hair ribbons are super cute, and don’t damage hair like bands do.
LaVie Lactation Massager
This LaVie Lactation Massager is a little different from the warming massager mentioned above – it’s shaped specifically to be able to get out clogged ducts. It’s also waterproof, which is really handy for working out clogs in the shower.
Since blocked milk ducts can happen anytime, this is a great just-in-case gift for any breastfeeding mom.
Every mom who pumps more than once a day NEEDS to be able to pump hands-free. Not having to hold breast shields in place gives pumping moms so much of their lives back, plus it makes it easier to do breast compressions while pumping.
The Baby Buddha is a great mobility pump! It comes with a lanyard, so you can hook yourself up to pump with a hands-free bra, hang it around your neck and walk around the house.
Baby Buddha gave us a special discount referral code for you guys – you can get 10% off with the code EPM10!
Being able to pump hands-free is KEY for exclusive pumpers. Freemie cups are one way to do this, and the benefit is that the entire collection mechanism goes in the nursing bra, so there’s no bottles hanging off of the chest. This makes it easier to hold a baby while you pump.
(Note: Some pumps, such as the Spectra S1 and S2, should use closed system Freemie cups. Most Medela pumps should use the open system cups. Check here for more info on Freemie and breast pump compatibility.)
Extra Ice packs
Ice packs are great when you need to transport breast milk (either on the way home from work, or being out and about with baby). This pack of 4 ice packs can be used in lots of different coolers or insulated compartments in a breast pump bag or diaper bag.
